 Losing a child is a mother’s worst nightmare and Katherine Jackson is living in that nightmare. On Friday July 19, 2013, Mrs. Jackson took the stand for the first time since her sons death. Katherine sobbed as AEG Live slammed her son, Michael, calling him all sorts of rude and hurtful names. Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 due to a drug overdose administered by a Dr. Murray. Mrs. Jackson and her three grandchildren, Paris, Prince and Blanket are suing AEG Live for wrongful death against the pop-star. Mrs. Jackson claims that AEG Live was responsible for hiring Dr. Murray and that they should be accounted for for the death of Michael. During cross examination on Friday, Mrs. Jackson did appear to get testy with the lawyers, but jurors seemed entranced by the matriarch of the Jackson Family, leaning close and smiling through out her testimony. 

AEG Live claims that Michael hired Dr. Murray himself, but Mrs. Jackson is suing for wrongful death to get the answers she has longed for. She believes that the production company is responsible for hiring Dr. Murray and for not paying better attention to her sons ailing health during a very stressful time. Michael was preparing for his “This Is It” comeback tour when he became very ill and was administered a deadly dose of a anesthetic called propofol from Dr. Murray. Murray is currently serving a four year sentence  for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. There is talk about Murray testifying against AEG Live but Murray is involved in an appeals case so nothing is certain yet. Questioning for Mrs. Jackson is continuing through out this week.
